STC 2008 Candidate Profiles AvailableThe Society for Technical Communication holds its society-level elections in April. If you selected voting by mail, you will receive a paper ballot in the mail in March. If you did not, you will receive an email alert to vote online. If you have not yet renewed your STC membership, go to https://access.stc.org/imispublic/. At the society-level, multiple candidates run for second vice-president. If elected, the second vice-president serves one year in the position and progresses to serve the next year as first vice-president and the following year as president. Previously, first vice-president and president were required to appear on the ballot with the option to retain or not retain the candidate. Historically, the candidates were always retained. Starting this year, the bylaws have been changed so that first vice-president and president will no longer appear on the ballot. Even so, you can read the profiles of the president and first vice-president along with the candidates for second vice-president, secretary, director, and nominating committee. In some cases, you can post questions to the candidates to see their responses. Check out the STC Candidate FAQ for more information. |
