Message from Larry Kunz, Candidate for STC 2nd Vice PresidentDear STC Colleague, I’m a candidate for second vice president in this year’s STC election, which begins on March 12. I hope you’ll give me your vote. The person you elect as second vice president will help guide STC through an exciting time. We’ll seek to define technical communication as a profession, in which people with specialized skills and knowledge provide bottom-line value to companies and customers, and not merely a commodity, for which services are often obtained by choosing the lowest-cost alternative. As an STC member, you’ve already taken a stand in support of the profession. You understand that technical communicators add real value. If you entrust me with your vote, I’ll work hard to shape STC into what it can and should be. STC can be the organization that takes the lead in defining our profession. STC can be the authoritative voice in technical communication. STC can be the place where people come together to build the profession while enhancing their own professional lives.
